The Chateau des Forges is the venue for the 2007 jazz break in France, our fifth. The date of the workshop is the week 9th July to 13th July. You arrive Sunday evening on the 8th and depart Saturday morning on the 14th.This is a week for people who love jazz, have at least 5 years experience on their instrument and have improvised, with or without formal training, and want an opportunity to develop further.
The group will be small (15 last year)to allow a totally interactive approach by the tutor, Mike Hall. Mike is director of jazz studies at the Northern College of Music and is very experienced at running workshops of mixed ability. You will play jazz and improvise from the very first minute and develop further each day.
In addition you can enjoy the intimate atmosphere of this beautiful 19th-century Chateau and its grounds and eat and drink in the French style.
